Hi y’all!
Haha…did that sound funny?
Ok…Aloha.
(More like it?)
But speaking of “ya’ll,” did I ever mention that my Dad was born and raised in Oklahoma? Yes. So, you’ll have to excuse me if occasional “y’alls” and “Howdys” come out. I also like Country music, in case you’re interested. But now I’m getting WAY off subject.
Let’s move on.

Dave took a bunch of pictures of me just before our date night last week.
Honestly, I get really awkward when I’m getting my picture taken, even by my own husband. Are you like that?
I do hope you’re all having the best weekend ever.
Something I’ve learned since I started blogging is that there are total seasons to blogging. Some days (or weeks) I can just stare at my computer screen with no words and no motivation. Even if a ton of great stuff is going on, I’m just not in the mood to write.
Then other times, I could write three posts a day and love every minute of it….I have to reign myself in to do other things (um, home school, cook, you know–) because I’m so enjoying writing.
Well, its one of THOSE seasons right now. I have been having so much fun with all of my posts: From crêpe week, to Miscellany Mondays and other link-ups, to style posts, and of course the deeper posts like my recent Skort Story, and so on…Y’all (it just happened again, see,) I’m just having a lot of fun with you these days! And I genuinely want to say THANK YOU for coming by to see me, and to so many of you making this a regular part of your day. (Big smile.)
Well, in the midst of all of the busy-ness here, this last week I had TWO guest posts featured at other sites! I was so honored! And I was so busy here that I haven’t had a chance to pass on those links to you!
First, the web site “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” had asked me a while back if I would share a post related to parenting in the early years. So, I decided to write a letter to myself– “Four Sons Ago,” giving some advice and wisdom that I wish I had back then. It was a fun way to reflect and (hopefully) encourage mothers of little ones…Click HERE to read that post at the WTE site!
Second, my friend Maryam from the Milk Friendly blog has been taking a “Baby Moon” break after delivering her third son, Ocean, this summer. (Cute name, right? And cute baby too!) She has been sharing guest posts by other bloggers where we each share “A Day in The Life” of our family. I wrote mine for her smack in the middle of summer! Now that we’re already smack in the middle of school, that life looks pretty good! I enjoyed this post so much that I think I’ll do it again, on a more “typical day” (school included!) for my own blog sometime! Click HERE to see my post at Milk Friendly, then take some time to read the other guests posts as well!
Well, that ought to keep you busy enough this weekend, so I won’t blabber on any more (though you know I could!
)
But before I go, can I ask a BIG favor of you? Okay, it’s really not big, in fact, it’s easy! But it means a lot to me! If you haven’t already, could you click the LIKE button on my facebook page? I started that page very late in the game, so it feels like it’s taking forever to get my numbers representing the true readership here. And even though that all sounds silly in some ways, it’s just how things work in the blogosphere, so thanks for playing. ![]()

One more picture from Dave. My earring was kind of flying in the wind, ha!
FYI– I AM considering doing a Grom MOM style post soon, because I have a few things I really want to share for a good cause. (even besides the SKORT
!) We’ll see if I can push through the awkward…
Y’all be good now, ya hear?
The grommom.
PS Comment on any topic in the world if you want to say hi. I love to hear from you!!

Monica, you are so darn cute…I just love to read your posts and you make me smile inside and out every time. Love the pictures your husband took of you. Yes, I am always very awkward when getting my picture taken, even by my sweet husband. I’m off to go read your guest posts and your skort story. I missed that one. I’ve been in one of those kind of “off-seasons” with regard to blogging. I have SO many ideas rattling around in my head and thankfully, I write them down because otherwise I’d forget every single one of them. But, as for actually tapping out the words onto my keyboard…not a whole lot goin’ on there. But, I’m feeling rejuvenated this weekend and more caught up with the rest of my life, so I’m ready to write again. I know you can relate when I say that the words are literally about to spill out (or jump out) if I don’t begin right (write) now.
By the way, my husband is from Texas and his best friend is from Oklahoma so I hear y’alls around here…and we love country music too among many other kinds of music.
Hope you’re having a great weekend.
Blessings friend,
Megan
I found you via Maryam’s blog…your family is so adorable…just wanted to stop by and say hello!
