Peter Rabbit Organics–Review and Giveaway!

Peter Rabbit Organics contacted me to see if I was interested in doing a review for their fruit and veggie pouches.
I was really excited.
This would be easy.
We had already fallen in love with these snacks.
In fact, the day I heard from them, Levi had just slurped down a pouch at Starbucks!

So when they sent me a nice boxful, we had no problem getting the kids to “try” them all.

And that’s what I love.  Everyone thinks these taste great!  They are not “baby food” pouches.  They are healthy-whole food-on-the-go pouches.  Good for any age.

Just our style!

Here’s what they’ve got:
Four fruit blends,

And three veggie/fruit blends:

Peter Rabbit Organic pouches are all organic, contain 100% fruit and veggies, and have NO added sugar or anything artificial.
These pouches are high in vitamin C, have between 70-85 calories, 0 fat, and 1.5-2 grams of fiber.
I love that you don’t have to refrigerate these before you open them, and that they come in BPA-free resealable pouches.

AND they are the perfect size for little hands.

Keeps my little one busy at the skate park while he waits for his brothers:

He sucks em dry.

And the other boys don’t mind slurping these things down at all.
The taste makes them stand out from any competition.  They taste like a real smoothie in a pouch.

Pre-surf:

Or just being cool:

They make a great, healthy snack after a long day working on the computer.  (Somebody’s gotta do it.)

You can get these pouches at Starbucks, in select Whole Food Markets, and other grocery and health food stores.  You will also find them on Amazon.com, Diapers.com, BabiesRUs.com, and Spud.com!  (You can also visit their site at peterrabbitorganics.com.)
Starbucks is where I usually get them.
Which leads me to a quick story–I hope you don’t mind:

Back when I only had two kiddos–and Josiah was about four and Jonah was two, I was teaching aerobics at our local gym.  This gym is conveniently located next door to Starbucks.  SO, after teaching a class, it was my little “treat to self” to stop in at Starbucks.  Back then, Starbucks sold little lollypops right at the checkout counter–does anyone remember those?
Well, to keep a very high-energy 2- year old happy, I would often give in and buy Jonah the lollypop that he begged for.
Besides that, we all ate pretty healthy, and I didn’t give my boys much sugar.

But by four or five years old, Jonah had a number of cavities!
I was devastated!  Since we fed the boys so healthy, and took good care of their teeth, I couldn’t figure it out.  But after some time, I started to think about those darned lollipops!  I felt so guilty knowing that MY coffee habit, caused me to cave and feed my little guy sugary treats WAY TOO OFTEN.

Fast forward eight or so years.  Baby Levi is here, and he also is lugged along with Mom to Starbucks often.
But here’s the difference:  There are no longer lollipops at the cash register (someone please tell me who to thank!)
Now there are Peter Rabbit Organic pouches!
And I feel absolutely great about “caving” and letting Levi have one.  Or two!

Our pediatric dentist would certainly agree!

Now I get the FUN job of hosting a giveaway!  Peter Rabbit Organics will send a box of 12 assorted pouches to a lucky winner.

All you have to do to enter is answer one little question in my comments below, and I will draw randomly from all of the comments:

Question:  How many servings of fruits and vegetables have you eaten in the last twenty-four hours!?  Don’t be embarrassed–we could all improve in this area!

I will choose a name on Saturday night    Wednesday, Nov. 16th–and announce the winner Thursday!  (NOTE:  I extended the days because I don’t think I gave long enough to begin with! Comment to win!)

Aloha, and here’s to good slurpen!

3!I was just at Starbucks the other day and didn’t even notice the pouches and haven’t even heard of them. Thanks for sharing because whenever I go to Target, I pick up a drink from Starbucks in the store and usually grab a milk for Bugs, so now will have to go check these out and see if he would like them!

I have had 8 servings of fruit and 3 servings of veggies. I have a sweet tooth, so eating fruit helps with that.

None, you guys make me feel like revving up the ole juicer and getting in a few servings right now!! The juicer takes a lot of time and these juice pouches look mighty convenient especially if you tend to overlook the fruit and veggie portions of the day.

Hey Grommom, Found your blog, and you rock! You’re living out my dream, overlooking the ocean in Hawaii..I’ve got 2 kids, a 4 yr old girl (who wants to be a surfer, never mind that she won’t put her face into the water..she will surf above the water!!) who eats whatever I give her, including 3 servings of veggies and 2 servings of fruit today…and an 18 month old boy..who is the exact opposite of his sister, spits out veggies, today I did manage, quite proudly to get about 6 spoonfuls of pureed butternut squash down into him after 45 minutes of screaming/tears and moving him out of the kitchen in his high chair to scream alone while we tried to celebrate his grandmothers birthday. All because he prefers birthday cake over veggies…Oh…he’s had 2 servings of fruit and 1 (is it one) of veggies……..I’d LOVE to try these pouches, can’t afford Starbucks at the moment, but tomorrow will search it out for the pouch……wish me luck!?!

Mmmm…. I’m not sure how many actual “servings” I’ve eaten, but I think I’ve had at least 11 different kinds of fruits & veggies in the last 24… Along w/ Juice Plus, of course! :)

As a vegan….and a film maker….always on the go, these little packages of goodness seem like the perfect idea! Especially, when filming at a location where there is nothing that is vegan friendly being served or where there is nothing at all being served. Normally the boring granola bar is packed in my camera bag, I could use a little change…Thanks for sharing this great product! And coming from a family who truly knows and understands health, I can trust that this is something good to put in my body :)

Servings: ??
? – not because I have had none, it is because I have a newborn and I lose count of everything.. including how many times I have grabbed an apple or a banana over the past 24 hours. I do remember broccoli, bananas, apples, grapes and butternut squash in the mix.. so that’s good, right? ;)

Monica, I finally caught up with you today! Fruits and Veggies… love em’. I’ve only had an apple today, but it’s still early! :-) I tried the pouches when we were in the States with Isaiah. So very easy! I know I can’t win the pouches since I’m on the other side of the world, but I just had to stop by and say ALOHA, my friend! Life looks so sunny and fabulous there! Love that the boys have a surf coach… I need one! :-) Love you!

Hey there MonSwan! Howzit? 6 fruits/maybe 2 veges…could do better but I admit it was an “off” day for me. The other day, I met my hubby next door @ Starbucks for a green tea after my awesome workout at 24hr Fit! Saw these Organic PR jiffy, handy-dandy squeezers-to-go! Love the idea and will have to try ‘em…almost bought one to have after my green tea. Would’ve loved them when the kiddos were a bit younger but anything organic always appeals to me so I am sold. At any age, my kids would love them; esp Markie! Now I’m going to go & click on your Top Mommy Blogs! (pick me! pick me!)

If each berry counts, then 27 servings. If not, then 5, assuming the cabbage on Janelle’s perfect fish tacos counts.

Oh my–it’s really you!!?? Thanks for stopping in!!
Each berry does not count. But you’re doing pretty good, I gotta admit. And Janelle does make perfect fish tacos. Yum.
