Our fall adventure in the Northwest continues to be a dream-come-true. I really do feel like I’m getting exactly what I came for, and (hopefully) I’ll be ready to be back in Hawaii at the end of this week. Honestly though–when it’s nice like this, I do start to think about what it would be like to LIVE here again…But there is no room for those thoughts, so nevermind.
(More on those sentiments on THIS page.)
Well, we made it to Oregon and we are having a wonderful time with Dave’s family. How blessed we are to have TWO fabulous sets of grandparents to be close to and to share with our boys. It is such a gift.
Before I start telling you about our time here, I will wrap up our time in Washington with some photos from a day out on my parent’s boat! It was exactly what we needed when Dave arrived. He had worked like crazy up until his flight out, and he was ready for a day to kick back with the family. And that’s exactly what we did. Here ya go:
**Together again…Come on, let me hear a little group “Awww.”
OK, or not.

**I know–it was freezing out and I was barefoot. (What is the saying? You can take the girl out of the island, but you can’t take the island our of the girl?…Or something.)

We left Gig Harbor, and went out to Vashon Island. It wasn’t very far, but perfect for a little cruise and a picnic on the beach when we got to Vashon. Here’s some more from our time:

And a little collage because I couldn’t post every picture…But I wanted to! (Levi at the wheel…Some crabbing at the dock, Levi at the binoculars, my parents and I with Levi, some view shots, and so on…)

It was such a fun day! It was windy and cool, but the sun was shining.
And we are so thankful to get to finish this vacation with more great weather, and wonderful family time.
Now YOU tell me: Do you have a fall break (like Hawaii does?) And if you home school, do you take a fall break?
Are you fully in the fall-mode now? Do you decorate? Are you baking with pumpkin? ( I can’t wait to do that!) I think what I’m saying is—I want to hear what YOUR FALL LOOKS LIKE! SO share a little if you would!
With Aloha,
GM

There is a fall wreath on the door, the dining table is fully fall and I just took off my fall socks. Yes you read that right, fall socks. Green and brown and purple leaf outlines on a grey background. I also have brown with red and gold leaves, argyle with pumpkins and some with turkeys that say gobble. Told you I was a fall girl.
I’ll be honest with you Monica, my fall is looking an awful lot like spring.
I love the pics and I’m really glad you’re all having such a good time. I also liked that little pic at the bottom of the collage of the ‘real’ yacht. You know, the kind with sails…
That said, your folks boat does look very nice! What a great way to spend a day!

sounds like a great time! My dad is the same way with boats – the second you get him on one with a beer in his hand he calms right down. Glad your weekend has been all you hoped it would be! My fall abroad is proving to be interesting…weird but liberating to be away from family for most of the holiday season. And Europe isn’t huge on pumpkin…sad day.
Awww!! I love all your pictures. I’ve also been following along on Instagram! You honestly have been so blessed with AMAZING weather.. I can’t believe how gorgeous it’s been.. but let’s be real, HAWAII takes the cake
Enjoy the rest of your time surrounded by the ones you love
