Inspired: {Tsunami Warning Edition.}

Aloha Friends!

One thing that always fascinates me:  You never know what a day will bring!  You might wake up with one plan for the day, and by the time you close your eyes at night, you’ll realize that there is no way you could have anticipated the things that went on that day.

This morning, I couldn’t have guessed the excitement and joy of Luke’s surf contest…Or the frustrations that were also a part of it.   I couldn’t have guessed that Jonah’s soccer team would lose five-to-zero.  Or that he’d forget to sunscreen and end up with a sunburn.

I really couldn’t have anticipated that tonight we’d be preparing for a tsunami  potentially hitting our island within the next hour.

NO WAY.

We are safe here at our home, and at first we weren’t even very concerned for the island as we thought it was probably another false alarm.
But as it draws closer, the news is reporting it may be more serious than they had even originally thought.

So, I’ll be closing this quickly.  We may have guests arriving who need a safe place to stay, and I want to sit and watch the news!

One of the things I had planned to share with you today was a link to another of my favorite bloggers, Kat from Inspired to Action.  I love Kat’s heart, and enjoy all of her posts.  (I also hope to one day join the amazing community of women at “Hello Mornings.”   You can read about that at her site!)

Interestingly, Kat wrote a post last week that spoke to this theme of the unexpected.   Her post, “You Never Know What Could Happen”  was NOT about surprise tsunamis, but instead about all of the possibilities and potential we face as we faithfully face each day.  I know you’ll love it too!

I’ll check in soon–Hopefully with reports of NO tsunami, but instead a good night’s sleep.

ALOHA,

Grommom.

Oh, and something fitting I found on Pinterest this week:
I think I’ll do just that!
