What’s NEW.

Oh my goodness—We fly out for Seattle on Tuesday!  Thank God it’s almost here–My boys excitement level has been OFF THE CHARTS.  You haven’t seen hyper until you’ve seen my boys this last week.  It went from funny, to obnoxious, to a little bizarre…Maybe we should leave the island more than once a year, huh?

There is a whole lot to do before we go though, so I thought I would just share a quick post with a few new things from our weekend:

1.  NEW SPORT!  No longer JUST Grommom–Now I’m a SOCCER MOM too!
Jonah found out that his friend’s team was short on players, and decided to jump on board.

Now for most families, having a kid play AYSO soccer is exciting enough, but for our family, it’s a little extra exciting…You see, we kind of gave up on soccer years ago after all three of our boys begged to quit.  (They had all played for a few years on both AYSO and club teams.)  Dave, who grew up passionate about soccer, was so disappointed when they all quit.  And he thought they’d never want to play again…Until last week!   So, Jonah wanting to play again is kind of huge for us.

2. NEW FRIENDS:   I got to meet the beautiful artist behind Brave Avocado, Jehan Valiente!  She and her surfer husband are visiting from California, and stopped by to visit us at the beach house.  We took a walk to check out the turtles, and Jehan was in total turtle-love…And I’m such a dork, I took this one picture of her from the back, and that’s it.

You’ll have to visit her site to see her from the front.  Hehe.
But, since it’s really all about me (joking!) here I am, in the super cute NEW HAT that she designed and  brought me!  I hope she keeps making these!

I LOVE it!

3.   NEW ROUTINE:  Levi has a new routine when we go to the beach house.  It has two steps:

First, he walks out to the front lanai, and strips off all of his clothes.  Diaper included.
Then he starts saying “BEACH!” as he proceeds to walk straight to the water…

At which time one of us runs to find some shorts to cover his naked two year-old body, and obediently follow him to the BEACH.  (Two-year-olds can be SO bossy.)

And this is where I thank God for my older boys.  Because contrary to idealistic notions,  this momma is not ALWAYS in the mood to go jump in the ocean!  Kids however, are ALWAYS ready to jump in the ocean.

So I sat back with a camera and had the most fun ever watching my oldest and youngest bonding in the waves.  I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen Levi smile so hard for so long before.  I think it’s safe to say that he likes the water.

I’ll be checking in before we go…And of course will stop in a few times from our time in the Pacific Northwest.

And I will leave you with last night’s sunset-This should really be on a postcard, don’t ya think?

I’m linked up today over at Carissa’s site…So go by and check out other miscellany as well!

Hoping you are all traveling together. Didn’t you make the last trip up without Dave to help and a younger harder to control Levi?
